Here’s a few pics I took today on the beach near Stave Hill.  Notice how those bricks are making their way back to the water? Same as in Walton… Lots of broken china on the beach too, but I was more interested in the chains, shackles and other such looking objects, as well as the bones…

than shopping?

How can shopping centres empower, rather than
exclude, newcomers?

Whose interests are different models of
development in? What could be an alternative to the bog standard shopping
centre? 

How can a shopping centre be a community, a
meeting place, not just a commercial space?

What can be done with ‘slack’ or ‘un-productive’
space and how important is that to the wider economy, community and society?

What is the point of regeneration, what should it
ideally achieve?
